As I wrote last month, Acol Village Hall Management Committee arranges a
programme of events throughout the year with the dual aims of fostering
good community relations within the Village and to provide funds to maintain
the fabric of the Village Hall, our single most important community resource.
I also reported that the 3rd October Quiz had been cancelled due to lack of support.
I also see from Sheila’s notes that there was no support within the Village for BLEND
Social Singing, with nobody turning up to the first tester session on 13th October.
I went on to report that the next event would be a Table Top Sale on 28th November.
[Like a Boot Fair, but indoors in the warm and dry, people will be able to hire a table for
£6.00, and sell whatever they wish – art, bric-a-brac, cakes, clothes, craft, toys etc.

The plan was that AVHMC members would be selling Teas & Coffees, and Soup and
French bread between 12.00 and 2.00pm, as well as running a Raffle, and promoting the
Christmas Hamper in aid of the Senior Citizen’s Christmas Party. However if, as has
happened in the recent past, this means that committee members will be doing all the
work, and running all the stalls, with no support from the rest of the Village, then it will
become necessary to cancel this event as well.
SENIOR CITIZEN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY
Once again this year the Village Hall Committee will be inviting all Senior Citizens
living in the Village, together with some friends of Acol, to an evening of
companionship, fun and food, to be held on Saturday 12th December. We are
pleased to advise that Vera and Charlie George have once again very kindly offered
to provide a hot Christmas meal, for which we are most grateful.
Enclosed within this edition is a form that we would be grateful if you would fill out and
return to the post box on the wall of the Village Hall, so that we can assess numbers.
In order to raise funds for the event we will be putting together a CHRISTMAS
HAMPER to raffle. Therefore any DONATIONS OF CHRISTMAS PRODUCE would be
gratefully received. (Once again, I have to report that no donations have been received
