ACOL NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH
The Acol Neighbourhood Watch Scheme is being started again, with new coordinators to cover the village.
You will shortly receive a visit from the person looking after your area of the village, asking you to become a member of the Scheme and to give your contact details. In this way you will routinely be contacted regarding reports of crime and any suspicious happening, including scams.
Please join the Scheme – in this way we can hopefully keep our village a safe and secure environment.
The village will be covered by the following:-
The Street and Margate Hill – Iris Osborne – email@example.com
Nursery Fields – Cos Costello – firstname.lastname@example.org
Minster Road and Dilnot Lane – Kate Aldir – email@example.com
Crispe Road and Margate Hill – Kay Skinner – firstname.lastname@example.org

APPOINTMENTS – TRIAL OF NEW SYSTEM
Following Patients response to our recent questionnaire, the Practice is currently trialing a new system to help alleviate the difficulty for those Patients who are unable to obtain an appointment on the day.
Although we are pleased with the results so far, we are always aware of the need for continual improvement, and will continue the trial for the next few weeks. We will, of course, ensure patients are kept informed.
We thank you for your feedback and patience and continue to welcome any comments you may have.
SEASONAL WINTER ‘FLU VACCINATIONS 2015
Vaccination Clinics will be held at the on the following days, between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm
Saturday 26th September and Saturday 17th October.
Appointments are now available and can be made in the usual way via the surgery.
Eligible and “at risk” patients will receive a reminder on their “Repeat Prescription List”
and will be invited to make an appointment on either of those days.
If you have any concerns about your eligibility please contact Reception.
NEW FACILITY IN THE WAITING ROOM
As mentioned in our previous newsletter, we recently purchased a “Weight Management System” which is now installed and located in the waiting room and is available for patients to use freely. It can be used to determine height, weight and BMI (Body Mass
Index) and can a useful guide to maintaining a heathy life style.
MISSED APPOINTMENTS – A SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT?
Less Patients missed their Doctors Appointment – CHEERS !!!
BUT! More missed their Nurses appointment – BOO !!
LAST MONTH : 43 PATIENTS DID NOT attend their DOCTOR’S APPOINTMENT!

SO STILL 103 “PATIENTS” STILL WASTING VALUABLE APPOINTMENTS and TIME!

OUR NEW PROJCT – PATIENT DONATIONS
We would like to thank those people who have made such generous donations towards our new project, and especially the family and friends of the late Betty Marner. The total has already reached £600. You can always keep up to date with our progress by checking

Some people may have noticed on Wednesday evening that Columbus Avenue had again become a motorcycle race track! The temporary Police Dispersal Order has expired and it seems we need it to be reinstated.
If your summer evening is ruined by screaming engines, please remember to ring the Police on 999, as speeding on the highway is an offence, regardless of where it is, which makes it a “crime in progress”. This is the only way we shall get a new
